The Fonterra AGM is held in a different province each year and has a huge attendance. However, as New Zealand’s biggest company, Fonterra has shareholders in all parts of the country. The Chairman’s, CEO’s, and Shareholders’ Representative’s speeches are a vital communication that needs to be available to all shareholders as quickly as possible.

Video tape from the AGM arrives at our facility and is edited and compressed within hours. This content is then sent to the Telecom Xtra video server and is accessible to shareholders via FencepostTV.

The framework for the video playback system is hosted at our facility and embedded into the FencepostTV website by Fonterra. This gives the client the ability to control access to the content via their Extranet, while having the best possible distribution via the Xtra broadband network.

The controller allows for play, pause, rewind and resize of the video window. Users can set their preferred video playback size as well as download bandwidth. A search function allows users to search for a particular speech, or to read the text of a speech.

Fonterra use this service to publish content of particular interest to their shareholders as well as AGMs and special meetings.
