Installation and Launch
This is it, the last stage of the development process! We check everything one more time and install and launch.
This part of the process happens after any last copy adjustments or image adjustments are made and everything is approved by you.
For web development projects the process takes about a day. While the website is still on our test server we run a few last checks:
- The website copy is spell-checked using an automated spell checker and meta tags and SEO details are checked.
- We go through the project list to make sure we have all the details sorted: bank details for e-commerce sites, URLs, and anything special required for hosting your site.
- All forms are tested for formatting and data integrity.
When everything is satisfactory, the site is published to the final host and we run through another series of checks:
- All forms are tested again and signed off by you.
- The site is automatically checked for any link errors.
- A general visual and navigational test is done.
- Analytics is checked to make sure web logging is working.
That's it! We keep a close eye on web analytics for the next couple of days to make sure the website is being indexed properly by search engines.Then we start online advertising and SEO campaigns and performance monitoring.
Kiosks and Digital Signage require a more intensive installation and deployment process.
During development kiosk software is regularly tested on the chosen kiosk hardware with all the required peripherals. Transactional solutions are tested with test EFTPOS accounts and often require a final test with the bank or accrediting agency.
Finally the software is installed on a kiosk and thoroughly tested over a period of days. Data transfer to and from the server is also tested. When everything is fully ready a final image is made of the kiosk software. This image becomes a gold master and is used to install software on each kiosk.
